Northlight gets $3M gift
Northlight Theatre Thursday announced a $3 million leadership gift from Paul Finnegan, the past chair of its board of trustees.
The gift brings funds raised for Northlight’s planned new theatre building at 1012-16 Church St. in downtown Evanston to over $20 million, within reach of its pre-construction goal of $24 million.
Northlight now is launching a challenge for its board and advisory council, Evanston business and community leaders, and other key stakeholders to match the donation.
Northlight officials say the Finnegan gift has already unlocked several other major donations, indicating a strong wave of support and enthusiasm for Northlight’s new home initiative.
